Wanna Boost Your Virtual Training Skills?
They’ve been saying for a few years that virtual training will pick up over the next 10 years. In fact, I’ve been helping some clients plan the transition of their training department to more virtual training solutions. Then the COVID virus came along. Everything changed overnight.
Many of my clients turned their 1 to 3 year plans for introudcing virtual learning into a 3 week plan as every course went virtual because of COVID. But just because they’re doing virtual training, doesn’t mean they’re doing it well. Or that it’s working for their organizations.
Many struggle to make sense of what works and doesn’t work in the virtual space. Whether they have the right tech, most efficient workflows and if the content and learning experience is up to standard.
So, back in April and May 2020, I put together this free webinar series to help folks get up to speed fast. I did it live, twice every Thursday at 8pm Singapore time and 1pm New York time.
Well, that time has passed. So it’s now available as an on demand series of learning sessions. CLICK HERE to access it. You can avoid the charge by entering the code DIGITALMOJO when you sign up.
The Series in a Nutshell
- Each session is less than 30 minutes. (Many are just 20 mins) That’s short enough to pack into your lunch break and still get a bio break.
- Each session is accompanied by an infographic that summarizes key points. No lengthy handouts you’ll never read. Just a visual reference to quickly scan that hits on the key points.
- This follows a webcast model because it’s on demand. It doesn’t feature interaction with me or anyone else. So what you get out of it is what you take.
- I’ve chose breadth over depth for these sessions to keep it short, rather than take a deep dive which is better facilitated in a live webinar session. Take just one point from each session, and that’s great. Take more, better still.
The 5 Sessions
Here’s what we’ll explore in the 5 sessions. They are accessible via the Teachable platform so you can watch as many times as you need.
Session 1: Poise and Purpose.
How to look good and have presence on a webcam. We look at techniques TV producers use to make their on-air talent look good, then explore how we can use them with our webcams.
Session2: Beyond PowerPoint.
People forget most of what they see in slides. So how can we deepen the learning experience? We look at how to integrate multimodal content such as video, graphics and text in a way that supports learning.
Session 3: Keeping Eyeballs.
How can we keep learners watching the webinar and not checking email or social media? We again draw on a media principle used in TV, that I call the Universal Principle of Change, that can keep eyeballs.
Session 4: Light Bulb Moments.
Most trainers get a buzz when they see a lightbulb go off in a participants mind, at that moment the participants understands a key moment. We can spur on more lightbulb moments with the Principle of Familiarity.
Session 5: Sticky Learning.
We look at how to make your content stick in the virtual space. Memory is what learning is all about, huh? Being able to remember what was learned in a virtual class so it can then be applied on the job.
